Guest Artist Biographies
Tavia DeFelice (properties design)
Tavia is an alumna of Loyola University Chicago and Ohio University. Although primarily a set designer, she has also designed costumes and props, and been a scenic artist for many theatres across the country. Her work has been seen in such places as the Washington Opera at the Kennedy Center, Arena Stage, the Shakespeare Theatre at the Landsburg and the Santa Fe Opera. Locally, she has designed the sets for many plays at Steel Beam Theatre, such as Proof, Death of a Salesman, A Christmas Story, Honk and Pump Boys and Dinettes. She also designed the sets for the Aurora University productions of The Rise and Rise of Daniel Rocket (2006) costumes for season forgiving (2006), and props for On the Verge (2006) and The Real Inspector Hound (2007).
Myron Elliott, Jr. (costume design)
Myron
is delighted to be collaborating with Aurora University for the first time. Originally hailing from Peoria, IL, Myron holds a B.A. from Southern Illinois University and an M.F.A. from Ohio University. Recent notable productions include Some Girl(s) and This Is How It Goes with Profiles Theater, Nocturne with the College of Wooster (selected production for Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival 2007, Washington, D.C.), Bluebeard with Ohio Light Opera, and Grease! with Stages St. Louis. He is currently working for Chicago Shakespeare Theater as a cutter/draper. Myron’s other design and technical collaborations include Indiana Repertory Theater, Cincinnati Playhouse, Glimmerglass Opera and the Berkshire Theater Festival. |
