Aurora University
Center for Adult and Graduate Studies

Why Aurora?

  • Aurora University has welcomed adult students for over 50 years, having established an evening program in 1947; one of the nation’s first evening programs at a liberal arts college.
  • Aurora is small enough to provide a personalized educational environment that helps ensure your success and large enough to give you the option of 38 academic majors.
  • The choice of majors is yours—choose from 13 majors offered in their entirety in the evening, including majors in business, communication, computer science, criminal justice, psychology, and sociology.
  • Faculty at AU are committed to teaching and have helped thousands of adult students achieve their academic and personal goals.
  • You will work closely with a faculty advisor or a professional advisor in the Academic Advising office to plan your academic program.
  • Your education is affordable—often through tuition reimbursement from your employer, low interest educational loans, AU scholarships and grants, federal income tax credits, and veteran’s benefits.
  • AU offers you a superior location— a university nestled in a tree-lined neighborhood in one of Illinois’ fastest-growing cities, yet just a short train ride from Chicago’s Loop.
  • Parking in college lots is available with valid student parking permit. You can obtain a parking permit from the Office of Campus Safety located in the lobby of Watkins Hall. Parking Permits for students cost $25. On-street parking is also available.
