Carrie Foor is a practicing marketing communication professional who shares current communication theory and practice with students in Professional Communication, Writing for Professional Communication and Business Communication courses. Her diverse business communication expertise includes 20 years of experience managing marketing communication in the nonprofit sector as well as for leading companies in publishing, printing, supply chain and transportation industries. She is currently the Executive Director of two transportation industry trade associations --the North American Rail Shippers Association and the American Association of Railroad Superintendents. As Executive Director, Carrie leads these organizations' integrated membership and marketing communication strategy, which includes event management, public relations, direct mail promotions, online and social media communication, and advertising. Carrie has previously taught Oral Communication, Organizational Communication and Persuasion at Northern Illinois University.
