What makes a good leader? The answer to that question has never been more important. Battered by economic turmoil and corporate scandal, our society is facing a moment of ethical crisis. We need leaders who can restore public trust by putting the greater good before their own self-interests. At Aurora University, we are committed to helping students embrace this life-changing concept.
For more than a century, we have prepared students for lives of service. Rooted in the historic traditions of Aurora College and George Williams College, we believe that learning does not happen in isolation, and that leadership is a talent that must be nurtured in the classroom and beyond.
We are developing leaders who can tackle the nation's most pressing social issues by creating opportunities for "learning by doing" in the greater community. Ultimately, our students create positive change in the world as they devote their lives and careers to meeting the needs of others.
The Aurora University Servant Leadership Initiative is committed to strengthening individuals and organizations from the inside out. By building a leading center for research and training in servant leadership, and creating collaborative partnerships with people who share our vision, we will nurture future leaders who serve the greater good. And in doing so, we will strengthen the pillars of our society.
