Speaker's Lab
The Center for Teaching & Learning now offers speech tutoring in the Speaker's Lab, located on the second floor of the Charles B. Phillips Library.
The purpose of the Speaker's Lab is to help students improve their public-speaking skills. Tutors in the Speaker's Lab offer expert critique and assistance from beginning to end of the speech-making process, including:
- Refining a topic
- Organizing research
- Polishing language
- Improving delivery
Additionally, the tutors can work with students on several types of speeches, including:
- Individual or group
- Informative, persuasive or ceremonial
- Memory, manuscript, impromptu or extemporaneous
- With or without visual aids
The Speaker's Lab provides assistance for all phases of oral communication. Whatever your speaking event might require, our tutors will tailor your lab experience to fit those specific needs.
