Become A Member of AU Choirs!
All new members of the AU Choirs must schedule an audition.
Auditions are simple and designed to be stress-free. They will assist the professor in placing each student in the optimum ensemble for their skill level as well as helping to establish your vocal range and choral section. Singers need not be accomplished soloists to participate.
Voice Hearings Procedure:
- Sing a few warm-ups/vocalise to establish range
- Sing tonal memory exercises (sing back a melody played by the piano)
- Sing "My Country ‘Tis of Thee" or other familiar song
- Sight read a short example of music. (Sight reading will not keep you from participation in choir)
It is important to note that singers may NOT be added after the first week of classes each semester. Contact Dr. Fredenburgh to schedule an audition.
