HSP3000 Introduction to the Hospitality Industry (3 semester hours)
This course will introduce you to the many facets of the hospitality industry. You will examine the many forces that are currently affecting both growth and change within the industry. The course id designed to give you a broad overview of the hospitality industry.
Prerequisite: junior level standing.

HSP3600 Tourism (3 semester hours)
This course provides an interdisciplinary introduction to the concepts, methods and practices of leisure, recreation and tourism studies.
Prerequisite: junior level standing.

HSP3700 Hospitality Law (3 semester hours)
A comprehensive study of the legal aspects of the hospitality industry with an emphasis on compliance and prevention of liabilities.
Prerequisite: BUS2010.

HSP4990 Senior Seminar in Hospitality (3 semester hours)
A capstone course for those majoring in business leadership with an emphasis in Hospitality Management. In the course, students complete two significant endeavors. One will be the development and presentation of a professional portfolio. The other will be a research project that will identify a contemporary operational issue, analyze the problem, develop and propose strategic solutions, and develop a plan for implementation. Research topics could include leadership, guest relations, communications, ethics, strategic planning, international tourism, organizational behavior, guest services or other areas with approval of the department chair. This 3-credit class will be conducted over a period of 16 weeks.
Prerequisite: senior level standing.
