After growing up in the Green Bay, Wisconsin area and completing my undergraduate studies at St. Norbert College, I moved all over the country for graduate studies and employment opportunities (Arizona, Louisiana, New Hampshire and Texas).  Study abroad and international studies was a large part of my overall education experience, having studied abroad several times each in France, Mexico, Quebec and Spain.  I have also led student groups abroad to Spain, France and Quebec.  I have had numerous teaching experiences, from high school to large universities and very much enjoy sharing my love of languages and cultures with my students.  I have been a professor at AU since 2011 and I enjoy the close collaboration with students and my colleagues.  It is truly special to have the opportunity to get to know my students in and outside of the classroom. My research interests include international education and experiential learning abroad, sociolinguistic Francophone studies, French film and Francophone literature (particularly French-speaking immigrant literature).  My personal interests include spending time outdoors and time with family, friends and my dog, cooking, traveling, playing and watching a variety of sports.
