I was born in Illinois and graduated high school in St. Charles.  My advanced education was in Texas where I lived and worked for ten years.  I am licensed to practice law in both Illinois and Texas.  I have worked with the Kane County State's Attorneys office for over 16 years.

My philosophy as a prosecutor is to always seek justice based upon the law and the facts of each individual victim and defendant.  With that goal in mind I believe a prosecutor should be one who prosecutes crime vigorously and with the ability to understand that we are dealing with human life.  The protection of children and victims of violent crimes is an honor and a privilege and should be done with the strongest of effort and diligence.

My philosophy in teaching in the criminal justice program at Aurora University is to convey to the students a true understanding of the court system thought hands on activities and by live speakers.  Through this approach students can see that being a great lawyer does not necessarily mean that you are at the top of your class, but that with hard work, determination and true caring approach to the crimes and the people justice will prevail.  And the victims, witnesses and even the defendant's should emerge for the process of crime through the justice system with the sense of being treated fairly and equitably even if the defendant is sentenced to prison.
