Steve Lowery was born in Muncie, Indiana and traces his artistic mandate back to when his fifth grade teacher mused that she could not understand how a student with such poor handwriting could draw so well. He is a painter whose work can be categorized as Abstract Expressionism or Surrealism. Professor Lowery has been teaching at Aurora University since 1986 and is firmly convinced that everyone has an artist lurking inside.
