American Culture and Ethnic Studies Minor

Are you interested in learning about race, ethnicity and culture in America?  You might consider the minor in American Cultural and Ethnic Studies.

This minor offers students the opportunity to study the histories, experiences and ancestral background of a variety of ethnic groups from an interdisciplinary perspective.  Courses for this minor are available across the disciplines and include courses in sociology, history, communication, Latino studies, political science, nursing, English literature and Spanish.  The focus of the minor includes, but is not limited, to the following American ethnic groups: African American, Latino, Native American and Asian American.

This minor would be appropriate for students in a number of majors including the health professions, education, social work, business, communication, criminal justice, sociology, psychology, history and elementary and secondary education certification.  It can also be a strong resume builder for students looking for employment or graduate work in these areas.
