Dr. Brzuzy has over 20 years of experience in social policy work at the city, state, and federal levels. For the last 16 years, Dr. Brzuzy has taught social policy courses to graduate and undergraduate social work majors. She co-authored the text Social Welfare Policy, Programs and Practice (1998, Peacock Press with Elizabeth Segal, PhD.) and has written several articles analyzing the impact of social welfare policy outcomes on vulnerable populations. Dr. Brzuzy is also the co-editor of Battleground: Women, Gender, and Sexuality (with A. Lind, 2008) and has published works on Gender Identity Disorder (GID), transphobia and same-sex marriage. She is currently working on projects focused on policy activism in the U.S.A. and transgender identities and theory.
