Fred McKenzie is the Director of the School of Social Work and Director of the Doctor of Social Work Program at Aurora University. He has nearly forty years of professional experience as a social worker, private practitioner, administrator and academic since 1974. Fred began his AU career as an adjunct instructor in the School of Social Work in 1987, and became a full time Social Work faculty member in 1991. He became the Director of the School of Social Work in 2006, and the Dean of the College of Professional Studies in 2008. His area of teaching expertise is advanced clinical theory and practice. Fred's extensive clinical background includes work with individuals, couples, families and groups; ranging from childhood through older adults. Fred is the author of "Theory and Practice with Adolescents: An Applied Approach," Lyceum Books, 2008, and "Understanding and Managing the Therapeutic Relationship," also with Lyceum Books, 2010. He is also completing his third book with Lyceum "Interviewing for the Professions: A Comprehensive Relational Approach."
