Today, the number of immigrant children who are non-native English speakers is rapidly increasing in public and private schools throughout the United States. From its inception, Aurora University's College of Education has taken pride in keeping abreast of changing trends and needs in the communities it serves. Because Illinois faces a shortage of teachers in Bilingual/ESL education, these positions go unfilled every year. If you wish to teach in this field, then do consider Aurora University for your professional preparation. Programs are available to assist currently certified teachers to become endorsed/approved in the Bilingual/ESL field.
