I believe that students of social work are called to this field of study and to this profession because they want to make a positive difference in the world. These purposes are fully consistent with the mission and the culture at Aurora University. I teach and practice research at Aurora because I feel that the decisions we make as we develop our practices, programs, and policy should be guided by the best evidence that can be marshaled. I look forward to working with students as they develop these skills and learn to apply them in real-world settings.

Awarded a Mary E. Switzer Fellowship, National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research to conduct a study entitled "Evaluation of Barriers to Delivery of Rehabilitative Services to Infants and Toddlers in the Custody of the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services."
Awarded an Administration for Children and Families Developing Scholars Grant for completion of dissertation research along with a faculty representative of the Jane Addams College of Social Work and three other students.
