I am pleased to welcome you to the School of Social Work at Aurora University. The School of Social Work has its roots in George Williams College which was established more than 100 years ago to prepare YMCA leaders and other leaders in human service to serve vulnerable populations and communities. Our ideology stems from the rich social group work and settlement house movement from the turn of the 20th century.
The School of Social Work provides a dynamic learning community for students seeking a BSW or MSW degree. We pride ourselves on our outstanding academic and professional reputation including our commitment to a student-centered approach to help you accomplish your goal of attaining a professional degree. The School's programs have been fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) for over 30 years.
The BSW program prepares graduates for entry-level social work practice. The MSW program offers two concentrations: Clinical Practice, and Leadership and Community Practice; both concentrations prepare graduates as advanced-level social work practitioners.
To enhance academic learning, the School offers a number of optional certificate programs designed to prepare graduates for practice expertise in a specialized area. Certificate programs include Addictions (CADC), Child Welfare, Gerontology, MBA Leadership, and School Social Work. In addition, our field internship offers students more than 200 internship opportunities which allow you to choose from a wide variety of social work learning experiences.

Our faculty has extensive experience in the field of social work. Faculty are very committed to knowing our social work students and working with you individually.
